IUI (Intra Uterine Insemination)

IUI refers to Intra Uterine Insemination, in which concentrated and washed semen is placed inside the uterus (womb) of the woman. Patent Fallopian Tubes of the woman is the prerequisite for successful IUI. IUI is done around the time of ovulation (release of egg from ovary) to maximise the chances of pregnancy.

IUI is offered to couple having one or more of the following medical conditions:

Husband has Wife has
Decreased sperm count Anovulatory cycles (to ensure sperm availability during ovulation induction)
Decreased sperm motility Disorder of Cervix or Cervical mucosa
Difficulty in ejaculation Painful Intercourse
Disorders of Penis
